Our Story

My name is Hassan, and I’m writing to you from Hasilpur, Pakistan, the town where this entire idea began.

It started the way most personal projects do — with a real problem. When my own puppy was just a few months old, I found myself constantly worrying about her growth. Was she gaining weight at a healthy pace? Was she too thin, or perhaps growing faster than she should? Would she end up small or large once fully grown, based on her breed? These are the kinds of questions that keep new puppy owners up at night, and I was no exception.

So I did what most people do — I searched online for answers. But what I found was disappointing. Most puppy weight calculators I came across were either too complicated, filled with confusing charts, hidden behind paywalls, or simply inaccurate. Some websites offered generic advice that didn’t account for breed differences, while others required so much technical knowledge that an average pet owner would struggle to use them. I couldn’t find a single place that gave me a clear, trustworthy answer in a way that felt made for someone like me — a regular dog owner, not a veterinarian or a data scientist.

That frustration became the spark for Puppy Weight Cal.

I decided that if I couldn’t find the tool I needed, I would build it myself. What started as a simple personal project — a basic calculator to check my own puppy’s weight progress — slowly grew into something much bigger. As I built and tested the tool, I realized that thousands of other puppy owners around the world were likely asking the exact same questions I once had. The late-night searches, the worry, the “is this normal?” doubts — these weren’t unique to me. They were universal experiences shared by nearly every new dog owner.

That realization changed the direction of this project entirely. Instead of building just one calculator, I set out to create a complete home for every kind of puppy-related calculator that owners actually use in their daily lives. Not just weight tracking, but tools for predicting adult breed size, monitoring healthy growth patterns over time, understanding feeding needs, and eventually, many more practical calculators that make raising a puppy a little easier and a lot less stressful.
